“Progress is impossible without change, and those who cannot change their minds, cannot change anything.” (George Bernard Shaw)
HellO, WOrld!
This is my first ever adventure in the Flower Market of Bucharest. And believe me, it was so exotic, that I could compare it only with my short visit in Kairouan, in the famous carpet market, near to the Great Mosque.
Except the fact that tunisians where not so friendly with me. Like the gypsys from the Rahova Market were. #thankGod
Well, my only memory related to a traditional florist is Eliza, the famous character from the My Fair Lady musical. You know it, for shure. Is the one with..“The rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain” song. And looking around, at the gypsy florists from the Rahova market, I’ve tried to imagine how could I find one Eliza between them.
I realized that probably in every girl florist from the exotic Rahova Market there is a hiden My Fair Lady. Except the fact that most of them never saw the movie, and probably they never will.
And I also realized another important thing. For every major kind of change in life, you always need a kick in your ass. And this is available for everyone of us. It could be named Profesor Henry Higgins or whatever, but we are not capable of change by ourselves. We are always stuck in something, in somewhere or just in our laziness. So we need someone or something to kick us out.
But it’s not only our fault, complitely. Starting from our childhood, we get so many different kind of messages related to CHANGE. Some of them saying that it’s ok to change. The others, the opposite. For example:
It’s NOT OK to change:
“The best love is the one that makes you a better person without changing you.”
“If you don’t change direction, you may end up where you are heading.” (Lao Tzu)
“Don’t change yourself for someone. If they don’t apreciate the way you are, find someone who will.”
It’s OK to change:
“If you don’t like where you are, then change it. You are not a tree.”
“Be the change that you want to see in the world.” (Mahatma Ghandi)
“If nothing ever changed, there’d be no butterflies.”
Well, It’s hard to change your life, that’s clear. Poor Eliza had so much to suffer in this process, but the story has a very happy end. She maried the profesor. Even if she was a poor gypsy florist, like the ones I’ve meet, one week ago, in the Flower Market. But she made a change.

HellO, WOrld!
Sigur vi-o amintiti, e cea care canta The Rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain.
SI mi-am dat seama ca probabil, in fiecare dintre ele, sta ascunsa o My Fair Lady.
Daca nu schimbi directia, vei ajunge acolo unde ti-ai propus. (Lao Tze)
